I grew up in Virginia making art with my mother, a printmaker, who gifted me her Kodak Instamatic x-35 when she upgraded to a Nikon SLR. We read a lot and made up a lot of stories. And I have been doing that ever since.
Trained in ceramics, photography, fashion design - patternmaking & sewing, writing, and video editing in classes throughout my youth and into college at Virginia Tech, University of Colorado - Boulder, and NYU, I also apprenticed for two years with a home contractor, learning how to repair and renovate houses. Most of my working years have been spent doing that, working in a ceramics production studio, being a nanny, and editing video for non-profits such as Children's Defense Fund and Alexandria Symphony Orchestra.
I recently moved from NYC to Detroit to renovate houses and make more art. Thanks for stopping by!
